Reverse a debit order

See how to reverse recent debit orders for amounts less than R1 000.

To begin, go to your home screen and tap Manage.

Next, select the account from which the money was debited.

Keep mind that debit order reversals can only be made from current or savings accounts.

You should see debit orders under R1 000 that were deducted in the last 40 days.

Select the debit order you want to reverse.

I want to reverse a debit order that's more than R1 000. What should I do?
You can call us on 0860 123 000 or visit your nearest Standard Bank branch.
I've reversed a debit order. Does this mean the same debit order will never go off my account again?
No, but you can stop a debit order via Online Banking, by going to a branch, or giving us a call on 0860 123 000.
I reversed a debit order. Why can't I see the returned amount in my account?
Your returned amount should appear in your transaction history within 2 business days. If it hasn't, please call 0860 123 000.
Can I reverse other types of transactions that aren't debit orders?
No, for now the reversal feature is only available for debit orders under R1 000 that occurred within the past 40 days.
Can I reverse debit orders on my business accounts too?
Yes, you can reverse debit orders on any transactional account that belongs to you.
Can I reverse the fee for a debit order that I didn't allow?
Yes, you can. Please visit a branch or give us a call on 0860 123 000.
Why doesn't Standard Bank automatically reverse a debit order I didn't allow?
We can't be sure whether you allowed it or not. If you didn't allow a debit order, try to reverse it or call us on 0860 123 000.
