Switch your OTP preference

DigiME’d customers can change the OTP preference on the app in a few easy steps.

To begin, you need to access your profile by tapping:

  • More (on the bottom navigation),
  • Your profile (on the top), and
  • the Personal details menu option

On the Your Profile screen, tap on the OTP Preferences icon.

If you have more than one card linked to your profile, choose the card you’d like to change the OTP preference for.

If you only have ONE card linked to your profile, you'll skip this step.

Choose the OTP preference that you would like to switch to for this card.

Tap DONE on the top navigation.

All done! Your OTP preference has been successfully updated.

When you’re ready, use the back arrow buttons in the header (top left-hand corner) to return to the home screen.

Why can't I change my OTP preference on the app?

To ensure that your customer profile is visible on your device, please register for DigiME.

To switch your OTP delivery preferences, you need to have registered both your email address and cellphone number.

If you’re having issues with your OTP, contact ibsupport@standardbank.co.za, call us on +27 800 123 000 (for South African customers) or contact your banker.

How do I change my OTP preference from email to SMS or vice versa?

If you are registered for DigiME, you can tap on "Personal details" on your customer profile. Next, tap on "OTP Preferences" and select your preferred method.t.

How do I receive OTPs if I’m travelling abroad?

To ensure fast and efficient OTP delivery, we recommend you switch your OTP delivery preference to email.

To set up your OTP to be sent to your email address instead of your cellphone number, you need to be a registered DigiME customer.

Tap on "Personal details" and then tap on "OTP Preferences" and select your preferred method.

Can I change my OTP contact details on the app?

Currently, this feature is not available on the app. Please visit your nearest branch to update your details. For queries, please call +27 800 123 000.

What does it mean to set a primary contact?

Primary contact is the contact number you would prefer us to contact you on regarding general banking communication.

Why can't I update my tax details on the app?

Unfortunately, you can’t view or update your tax details on the app unless you’re a DigiME customer with a valid South African ID number.
